ECONOMIC SITUATION AND PROSPECTS:

Oil represents 95% of the Libyan exports. Libya has also large industrial poles in the fields of petrochemistry, iron, steel and cement.

Libya daily produces about 1.4 million of crude oil barrels
Libyan oil reserves are estimated at 43 billion barrels, and gas reserves amount to 45 trillion m3.
The refining capacity is of 5.5 million barrels per year, that's a daily average that may reach 322 thousand barrels.

Principal Libyan markets:
- Italy: 37.6%
- Germany: 22.3%
- France: 5.8%
- Other countries: 23.1%.
The new Libyan government is oriented toward a liberal economy adapted to the changes witnessed in the world.
