ECONOMIC
SITUATION AND PROSPECTS:
|
|
The economy of
Spain ranks 8th in the world and
5th in Europe. Over the last few
years, Spain has enjoyed an economic
growth rate ranking among the most
elevated ones in the Union. Moreover,
Spain has succeeded in reducing
unemployment and balancing public
finances.
The EU member states account for
nearly 70% of the Spanish foreign
commerce. Latin America also plays
an important role in the Spanish
economy, given that Spain is the
biggest investor in many of these
countries; Tourism accounts for
nearly 10% of the Spanish GDP.
